KONNAKOL MUSIC - funky 7 modern style
Henrik Andersen & The Jazz Rebels performing "Letting It Shine" - this type of music and the groove is really based 100 % on me studying konnakol. It took a lot of experiments to transform this ancient indian tradition into something more modern and personal. But I am kinda sure that my new band has done exactly that. Konnakol and 6/8 or 12/8 grooves
Today is 6/8 - witch is also one of the most common rhythms in music. To celebrate this I repost this because it's about what you can do in 6/8 with a little knowledge. To me rhythm is the art of timetravelling. Getting from point A to point B! And in this example in surprising new ways. I hope that this will bring delight to some of you and even inspire. The technique that I use to sing and count here derives from the 5000 years old Carnatic music tradition. And its called KONNAKOL.
